First Ultrasound!

We just had our first ultrasound today! Pelican is a whole 0.7cm long! Eh- pretty tiny when you think about it! But we were able to see Pelican's heart beat which was very exciting! We're very happy parents! He have pictures of the ultrasound we'll probably post once we get them scanned in. We are 6 weeks and 4 days along, thus implying that Friday's are our week counter. And so the due date turns out to be.... September 7th! Wahoo!!!!!!!!!! YaaaaY!!!!!!! We love Pelican!

Pelican Parks Power Point

For Family Home Evening lesson, Matt showed me how to make a power point presentation all about Pelican. (That made it way more interesting than if I made the presentation about anything else.) We want to add it to the blog, but we are not sure how. So if it is not here, that's because we didn't figure it out. If it is here, make sure to mouse over "Daddy Parks" on the last slide. It's great! (my favorite part)

Nutrition Mania

I have been addicted the last few days to reading all I could about being prego, particularly what to eat to help Pelican be healthy. It's been interesting. I went shopping yesterday and bought lots of fruits and vegetables and other good foods.
Today we told a lot of the people in our ward about our new baby. People were excited for us, and we really appreciated that.
We both start school tomorrow; I'm hoping to not get too sick.
There's really not anything new about Pelican - if we didn't know Pelican was there, we wouldn't know that there was anything different really. Except that I get rediculously tired sometimes. No big deal.
We set a doctor's appointment for February 8th. Hopefully then the doctor can tell us when Pelican is due.

Baby Info

I will try to answer some (already) frequently asked questions here.
We found out that we are having a baby on Dec. 27. We told only my sister, Laurel (Burns) on the 28th and announced to my family at our family Christmas on New Year's night. We called Matt's family that night and the next day and told my sister (Salli) then as well. Now the news is public.
We don't have a doctor yet, but are asking around and looking into it.
We are not exactly sure when Pelican is due; we are thinking September.
Matt and I have been married just over 7 months, and we are very excited to be having a baby!
