Spending Quiz

I just took this quiz.

http://www.babycenter.com/0_quiz-whats-your-spending-personality_1745685.bc?scid=preschooler_20100629:2&pe=2U69aix

It was fun. I was Dora. That sounds good to me. I'm pretty happy with the kind of spender I am most of the time. And I think Matt and I are well suited for each other financially. I think he is more frugal and financially responsible than I am in general, but I know I sometimes help him and rarely frustrate him with my spending habits. I appreciate his responsibility and awareness because it helps me a lot.

What about you?

A Little Bit Sick

That's me today.

Camera Woes no more!

Oh the joy! So my rant earlier was totally unwarranted because the problem had a simple and wonderful remedy. I'm using a mac, and Quicktime (the video playing program on the mac) had the codec to play the video, but didn't have the codec to play the audio. (In lay-man's terms, Quicktime knew how to speak the video language that the camera's video recording produced, but not the audio language that it produced.) So, all I had to do was teach it! Well, I don't have a clue either, but some wonderful folks that do wrote some software called Perian. I downloaded it, installed it, and voila! Sound! I'm so happy about it!

I found out about it because I was looking into taking the camera back and, as part of that, busted out the Users Manual. I noticed that the Users Manual said it had a microphone. Now honestly, of what use is a microphone on a camera except for video? I guess you could use voice activation to tell the camera to "focus" and "shoot" a picture, but uh... I don't think that's a widely produced feature at the moment. So, I began investigating and, with the help of Google, found Perian. I'm thrilled! I did a happy jumping up and down dance for Bonnie about it.

That said... the video of our driving song at the talent show was uh... 538 MB, so half a gig. If that doesn't mean much to you, just know that that is dramatically too large for uploading to my blog. It turns out that this camera has DVD quality and lower quality video recording options. I think I should tone down the quality a bit in the future. =)

That's all Folks

That's the end of the family photos. Didn't Emma do an AMAZING job! Thanks again Emma!

Well, so this post has a little more to it, I'll add one of those silent (stupid camera) videos and just tell you about it.

... Okay, so it appears the file is too big ... even without sound. So I guess I'll just tell you about it.

In this video, as you can can't see, Amy is building towers with her blocks. She builds a tower, it falls, and she builds again, over and over. She gets them pretty tall - probably 8-10 blocks at a time. Throughout the video she's continually saying things like: "Look at my tower temple! There's no Moroni on it! This is my tower temple! I'm making this temple so I can marry Rudy in my temple!"

Yes, indeed she was building her own temple so she could marry Rudy in it. Rudy, I hope you know what this girl will do for you! ;-)

I'm pretty much obsessed with this picture of Amy. She's SO cute!

I really like this one too. Something about it has a little-girl-playing-Jane-Austen type feel to me. Ok, I'm probably just weird, but whatever you think about that, it's still a really cute picture.

This one's all about Noel. I probably should just crop it around her face and leave out the rest.

I like the candid feel of so many of these.

More of Bonnie and me. These pics are all very similar, but since this isn't a photo studio where each print costs over $100, I don't have to narrow it down as much. I couldn't decide between these... so I'm NOT! And you can see each of them.

I've found I really like this affect - we're in focus but she blurred the background slightly. I think it really puts the focus on the people and helps them stand out in the picture while not being too obvious that the picture was played with.  I love it.

Again, the affect Bonnie thinks is weird but I like it - especially with these yellows standing out so well.

And this one I just think looks good... like, really good. Bonnie's just hot!

"Well, that's nice...  SHE KISSED ME!" (Name that movie. Ok, so it's an easy one.)

This set dedicated to the Mysterious and Dashing Noel:

Do I see a grin under there?!?

Such a cutie!

After a good night's sleep, I'm back up and ready to put up more of these pictures. Pretty much I'm obsessed with how attractive my family is.

Aaaaaaaah, Cuuuuuuute... yeah, yeah.

I like this one. Amy's looking all cute and stylish with her hat... and a bit vintage in my opinion. I feel lucky to be part of such a cute picture!

Okay okay, one more! I couldn't resist when I saw some of the upcoming photos (I think you'll understand as you see them below - I really just have cute kids!) ... though I hope I don't do that again. I really am tired. But once again... scroll down and begin with "1 of many". Well... I guess you don't need to. I just put them mostly in the order they were taken. So... enjoy them in whatever order you feel like! I feel like going to bed is in short order.

Such a sweet picture of Amy giving Noel a little kiss!

I wonder if anyone is enjoying herself?

Okay, g'nite!

Ok, this is it. I'm calling it quits after this one. I'm sleepy. Maybe I'll finish a few more tomorrow... or perhaps Bonnie will. In the meantime, enjoy. Oh, and one more shout out and major thanks to Emma for coming down from Ogden to be our Photographer! She's done a steller job, as you can see.

Hey - this is the end of the line. No cutting! The beginning of the line is back here, eh!

I love those last three - they show our family well I think. We often like to play around and tickle, etc. What a great family I have!

Yellow Bliss... Can you guess who picked these outfits? =)

Cutsie Toes

Bonnie often thinks these kind of pictures (b&w with some color) are weird, but I often like the affect they create.

Ok, this picture made it here for one reason - check out Noel's face! It's hilarious!

uh-oh... I'm starting to get sleepy... we'll see how many more of these I get through. But you, the reader, probably already know because you saw my last post already and likely took note of what number it was, even if that was done subconsciously. [Napoleon Dynamite voice]: Lucky!

Thumbs up!

Clutched tightly into Dad, she reaches out daringly and delightedly pets the ravenous beast very friendly dog.

In this picture, our girls are making funny faces with their mouths, and they're cute, but what you really can't miss is how good Bonnie looks in this picture. I mean really, look at her! This picture could be on the front of a magazine or something! (Well, except that she's modest and it seems magazines these days wouldn't know what to do with that. Stupid magazines.) Ok, sorry for the mush... but wow she looks good! ..... okay now stop checking out my wife!

Friends. This one has pictures of a couple of Amy's friends. In the pink skirt is Amy's friend Sunshine and in the blue is Ileigh.

(Oh, and some neighbors brought out their dogs while doing the photo shoot. You'll see at least one pic of that above. Noel freaked out here - the dog really scared her a lot. Sunshine, as you can see, had no fear, and Amy is kind of in the middle. She won't be scared if she feels like she's totally safe.)

We were happy to have some of Amy's friends there and glad that Emma got some cute shots of them to share. Lauren and Jessica - there are more and we'd be happy to send you them... or at least I'm volunteering Bonnie to do so! ;-)
